Own goal—The US Trade Representative’s office has handed in its yearly assessment on trade barriers by foreign countries. The section dealing with Mexico, the United States’ biggest commercial partner, is substantially bigger this year round.
The complaints feature many of the now perennial problems the US has with Mexico, like the lack of a fair regulatory system or limitations to investment in the energy sector. This year saw complaints completely lacking in self-awareness too:
