Sheinbaum can placate the protestors bringing Mexico to a standstill
It starts with an awkward conversation with her closest business advisor.
Roads into major cities blocked. Customs houses across the US-Mexico border taken under threat of force. The farmers and truck drivers’ strike was under way all of yesterday. Instead of cooling tensions, the government came out swinging, accusing the protestors of being opposition agents.
Tensions have only risen and, as opposed to the so-called “Gen Z” protests which caught international media’s attention mostly through branding, this protest actually does threaten to damage the Sheinbaum administration.
