The day the 47th President of the United States is sworn is not a day worth saying too much on. A leader so mercurial throws all assumptions out the window at a moment’s notice. Just look at the still uncertain but incredibly temporary TikTok ban, which did not stay offline for a full 24 hours before tentatively coming back on vague promises from Trump.

It is a lesson to any would be soothsayers in the Trump era. And yet—almost inevitably—here are two things any Mexico watchers must look out for in the coming days:
