In the land of the blind, the one eyed economy is king.

The tariffs that looked disastrous to Mexico a few weeks ago are now a point of strength, argues Secretary of the Economy and chief negotiator with the Trump administrator Marcelo Ebrard.

According to US official statements, Mexico is subject to 10% baseline tariffs like all other countries with a trade surplus with the US, but the greater though more flexible rates around cars, steel, and aluminium imported make Mexico look comparatively more competitive.
