A study published by the Milken Institute underscored that Mexican women are the most excluded from work among Latin America’s major economies. This is even though they are more prepared than ever—there are 6% more women than men in higher education—yet for every 100 men in the Mexican workforce there are only 75 women. The study concludes that if gender parity in the labour force were brought to Nordic or even US standards, Mexico’s GDP would jump by more than 6% and 10% respectively. Way more than the 2.3% growth the economy is predicted to see this year.
