Last week’s highlights:

• Energy insufficiency—As president Claudia Sheinbaum announced that Mexico is refining 80% of the oil it consumes domestically, imports of natural gas—almost all of it from the US—hit record highs.
  The aim for the government since the previous Morena party administration under Andrés Manuel López Obrador (2018-2024) has been to achieve energy
