When Mexico’s ruling Morena Party won in 2018, the National Action Party (PAN) opted for a broad anti-Morena coalition. Then, in 2024, that coalition got smashed—giving Morena and its allies a super-majority in 2024.
The PAN—Mexico’s historically conservative party and—has since tried to do some serious soul searching. This weekend it had a big relaunch—complete with a brand new logo. The party—which is still the country’s main opposition—seems to have concluded that, to claw back some power, it needs to go back to its two main roots:
