Once a punchline, the Green Party might rule Mexico
A controversial minor party is now kingmaker in the Mexican Congress.
There is a strength in scandal. The Mexican Green Party (Partido Verde Ecologista de México) is so controversial that how it might use its political clout is rarely discussed in coverage about it. Historically discussed as a bit of a joke party, on September 1st, the Greens will become the second largest party in Mexico’s Chamber of Deputies, only behind Morena, the ruling party.
