The Mexican government has tried to bend over backwards to show the private sector that the country is ready to make their investments work. After many talks with Mexico’s biggest names in business some big investors are starting to budge.

Beyond the usual announcements being made at president Claudia Sheinbaum’s morning pressers, new investments are being increasingly committed to specific government endeavours. It’s no longer just isolated projects but rather those pitched towards industrial policy and development plans created by the government.

This has all come at a cost.
